Bruno Moya

Secretary

Bruno serves as the Secretary for Desert Duals and brings a unique background in military service, mental health advocacy, veteran policy, and holistic wellness initiatives focused on supporting the veteran and first responder community.

Originally from Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, Bruno moved to Las Vegas at the age of seven before later enlisting in the United States Marine Corps in 2001. He deployed to Iraq during his military service and was honorably discharged in 2008.

Following his time in the military, Bruno earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has also played an active role in advancing veteran education policy throughout Nevada, helping support multiple initiatives impacting veterans within the state.

Bruno completed the AWE Psychedelic Therapy Training program, where he traveled to communities in which psychedelic medicines remain deeply connected to cultural and historical healing practices. In 2023, he co-founded the Nevada Coalition for Psychedelic Medicine and currently works as a Research Analyst for the Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau.

In addition to his public service and advocacy work, Bruno founded a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans, first responders, athletes, healthcare workers, and trauma survivors through wellness focused Jiu Jitsu retreats held in the Mojave Desert. His work combines mental health awareness, martial arts, peer connection, and holistic wellness practices to help strengthen community and healing through shared experience.

Through both his professional and nonprofit efforts, Bruno remains committed to creating meaningful support systems and opportunities for veterans and underserved communities.
